St John Vacation

It isn’t every day you see a donkey at the beach

Spent the day at cinnamon beach. And this is the first time I’ve seen a donkey at the beach. I know they are all over the island.

Name is partly from the color of the sand – It looks like cinnamon
Cinnamon Beach Ruins

Over a 1000 yrs ago there was a tribe of Tainos and the beach name is believed to come from this culture

Another first was laying on the beach during a rainstorm (heavy at times) and getting cold so went into water. Came back to land once sun was out about 20 min later. No one ran for cover everyone just continued what they were doing.

Wine Tasting by the Beach

There are many feral cats in St John. The local animal shelter has done a great job of capturing and spade/ neutering and releasing them back out to control the population. If you see a kitty with a clipped ear it has been seen by a vet and released back Volunteers are always needed to transport animals off the island.

Last super moon of the year (a little cloudy)

In the island they have full moon parties. I did not attend. The most famous use to be in Tortola at Bamba Shack where things got wild. Unfortunately the bar was lost in the hurricanes below are some pics at Bomba Shack from 2013

The newest spot to celebrate full moon parties is sapphire beach in st Thomas

I didn’t go snorkeling at Maho decided it wasn’t a safe idea to go alone. So I did t see the turtles. But the beach and water were amazing

The last full day I made a trip to BVI and hiked the Caves at Virgin Gorda which is a spectacular And of course I got to put a stamp in my new passport

And snorkel stop at Norman Island before back in Cruz Bay

Cave at Norman Island
And the last view from ferry. Until next visit
